As part of the Winter Pressures there will be a temporary freeze on the free movement of Patient's between Practices from 01.11.25-31.01.26
This means that any patient who is currently registered with a GP Practice in their area should remain registered with their current Practice and should not move to another Practice within the same catchment area. Patient's new to the area (including new babies) or with a current GP Practice, should continue to be registered to the practice list as requested.
Once it has been established that an applicant resides within the practice's geographical boundary (reception can advise), they will be invited to complete a confidential pre-registration form and attend for a registration health check.
Patients will not be registered with an individual doctor, but with the partnership. Nevertheless, all patients have the right to see the doctor of their choice where possible and provided that doctor routinely offers the services they wish to avail of. Where a doctor does not provide that particular service, patients will be offered the opportunity to consult with another doctor who provides the service within the partnership.
